This modern, light and airy guesthouse has been tastefully decorated, so you immediately 'feel at home'. We received a very warm welcome from host and hostess Carl and Emsie. Spectacular views over Somerset West and the ocean make this guesthouse the ideal stay when in the area of Cape Town and environs. We've been with the hosts since the beginning and we'll never stay anywhere else in Somerset West. Emsie's meals are so delicious that we rarely went to a restaurant to eat! The "signature breakfast" is a must! Carl also runs a taxi service to and from Cape Town airport and is a very knowledgeable guide of the area. Cannot recommend highly enough. Superb stay!

Used this facility for business last week and was very impressed with the "hot desk" option. Internet was fast and reliable. Hosts are very friendly, available for queries but unobtrusively so. Lovely view from the room and all facilities very neat and squeaky clean. The easy access from both the N2 and the R44 plus Waterstone Mall close by is an added bonus.

Somerset View Guest House has with their Hot Desk Service a collection of resilient workspaces for small and medium companies looking for incidental office space. We were on-site with our team this week. Everything was checked prior arrival. Using the rooms for virtual training with our client in Bangkok, Somerset View Guest House offers a good and stable internet connection. Emsie and Carl are the perfect hosts. During our sessions they were on standby to assist when and where necessary, but are at the same time invisible. All working places and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Above all, their space and beautiful views during our breaks encouraged a meaningful connection between the trainers, our work and ourselves. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely be back for our next training.

We, Ingrid and Gerhard from Berlin, had a longer stay here than planned. The Corona Pandemic was the reason.

At Emsie and Carl we had here a real home, that made us forget a lot. Loving care like it couldn't be better.

Very good cuisine, always something new. Plus a very well kept complex with a pool and a very good view. Really a little paradise.

A brand new guesthouse with all the modern facilities you can ask for, run by an experienced couple with an eye for detail and outstanding hospitality and service. Emsie's culinary expertise is unsurpassed and she'll meet individual requests for food (In my case even a real Bavarian breakfast). Carl and Emsie are an excellent source of information for places to visit and very helpful in organising trips and tours in the surrounding areas. All we can say is AMAZING, AMAZING, A M A Z I N G! We had a wonderful stay over last Thursday night, treated to a delicious 3 course meal and a light breakfast in the morning, both prepared by Emsie and served in the most beautiful dining room imaginable. What to say about the rooms, only one word comes to mind "WOW" our room was spectacular, beautiful to look at, comfortable with a capital "C" and the exquisite hand made patchwork comforters made by hostess Emsie just rounded everything off with a pure essence of home. Thank you so much Carl and Emsie for being such fantastic hosts, we will most definitely recommend Somerset View to everyone.
