Very friendly owners, Carl and Emsie were just great. Carl gave us great advice on where to drive for the most scenic views, and Emsie made us the best breakfast before our departure. Will definitely be back.

Ons was verlede week daar 22 Augustus [2025] geariveer vir 'n week. Baie dankie! Was in rolstoel kamer en die fasiliteit was regtig uitstekend. Ek het reeds Lekkerslaap laat weet hoe nice jul gastehuis is. Hoop om jul weer te sien na 2027. (Om weer in roetine te kom is maar 'n shlep!) Nogmaals dankie.

Thank you so much for hosting my mother and sister and for making their stay so enjoyable. Knowing my mother, I was a bit anxious, especially as she isn't fond of venturing out or staying in unfamiliar places—she’s a bit old-school that way! Leaving the arrangements to the last minute only added to my concern.
But as you likely noticed, my mother can be difficult to please, and yet you both went above and beyond, making her feel truly at home and comfortable. I can’t thank you enough for the warmth, hospitality, and kindness you showed us, welcoming us as if we were part of your family.

Carl and Emsie are very friendly and let you feel as if you are at your own home. Very pleasent atmosphere and rooms are elegant. Food excellent.

This modern, light and airy guesthouse has been tastefully decorated, so you immediately 'feel at home'. We received a very warm welcome from host and hostess Carl and Emsie. Spectacular views over Somerset West and the ocean make this guesthouse the ideal stay when in the area of Cape Town and environs. We've been with the hosts since the beginning and we'll never stay anywhere else in Somerset West. Emsie's meals are so delicious that we rarely went to a restaurant to eat! The "signature breakfast" is a must! Carl also runs a taxi service to and from Cape Town airport and is a very knowledgeable guide of the area. Cannot recommend highly enough. Superb stay!

Hi Emsie, my stay at Somerset View Guest House was excellent. The meals were great. Everything was top notch. My room with the Balcony overlooking Somerset, the Strand and Gordon's Bay was a view out of the books.
The neatness of the property and the standard of the room was definitely four star.The bed was most definitely the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. Lastly I must thank you for your friendliness and respect towards me.

Carl and Emsie did a wonderful job looking after me as I was to have skin surgery at a nearby day hospital. They delivered and collected me with their shuttle service and went to endless trouble in all ways. I highly recommend Somerset View.

If you are looking for modern and comfortable accommodation close to Somerset West, the Cape Town International Airport, the Strand, and easy access to the N2 and R44, this is it! Somerset View has the location, the bright and clean rooms, delicious breakfasts, and the best service and views you can imagine!! I stayed there in October, and immediately booked again for a business trip in December.
