Our most wheelchair-friendly guest room

It was decided early on that Somerset View Guest House would have at least one room specially dedicated to the use of people living with disabilities.

With this in mind, Carl was out on errands in Somerset West when his path crossed with Brandon Beack, a dedicated and highly talented young wheelchair athlete that competes in professional wheelchair sprints around the world. When asked if he would mind availing time to visit the new guest house and test out the features and layout, he graciously agreed.

The result is a room that is sure to offer comforts tailor-made to ensure universal accessibility and user-friendliness to even those challenged with the constant use of a wheelchair. Brandon was also kind enough to allow us to take photos of him in the specialized room, as well as the main hallway, various entrances and the wheelchair ramp that leads from the main parking lot to the pool area. We trust the photos below will offer a sufficient glimpse into what we have implemented so far.
